tl;dr
seriously though, a really good list and cool presentation.
with the possible exception of anniemal, the top ten are especially hard to argue with.
Also. I'm totally going to start copying this concept. Except I'll maybe include a bit of a description in the alt tags.
It's very tumblr-esque. Which is a good thing.

The design came naturally from the method I used to organize the list. Basically, I played desert island discs at each tier to help decide the order. ie. If I could only choose 5 discs (or 9 or 14 etc.) to take with me...
Curiously, although I think I prefer the 00s to the 90s, I think the top 10 of the 90s is stronger than the top 10 of the 00s.
Would love to see your end-of-decade lists if you get around to it.
