pabst is owned by the pabst brewing company, which is now the largest american owned brewing company now that the germans own bud.

they don't brew it anymore though do they? i was under the impression that they haven't actually brewed beer in decades.

Brad is on the right track.

In 2001, Pabst became a "virtual brewer" -- it now outsources all of its brewing to Miller. The only people who work for Pabst Brewing Company are marketing and sales executives.

It is a humorous irony that PBR has such an anti-corporate consumer image, when in fact, it is a brand maintained by an advertising agency.
