Verdict: My dad and his gerontology colleagues love this show. I can see why: no other series in the history of television has dealt so seriously with aging and generational conflict.

And just wait until Uncle Junior really starts to lose it. The realistic treatment is a Gerontologist's dream.

Seriously though, that scene with Paulie and his mother at the nursing home: Classic.
I think Season 4 might be my favorite to date. It reminds you how densely plotted television can be (*cough cough lost cough*).
