I'm going to miss Euro Cup.

Does anybody (Brad maybe) have any suggestions for teams I can root for in the Premier League?

I mostly just root for players in the EPL.

But, I'll definitely be rooting for recently promoted Blackburn this season. I would like to see Paul Ince do well as Britain's first black manager.

It would be cool if any of you guys want to play in our EPL fantasy league this season. If you have the Fox Soccer Channel, you can watch most of the games on Saturday and Sunday mornings—but don't be surprised when you tear yourself up inside with your new love for Rupert Murdoch.

I like Fulham, a popular choice for Americans since it's the only EPL club with American players (Bobby Convey and Feilhaber's teams were just relegated). They just acquired Eddie Johnson from the jizzards, although he's having a rough start in England. Other notable American players are Casey Keller and Clint Dempsey, who played exceptionally well at the beginning of last season and once saved the team from relegation. Brian McBride and Carlos Bocanegra spent the best years of their careers at Fulham. The team narrowly avoided relegation last season, which was really surprising and exciting--Lawrie Sanchez was a terrible manager and wasted a lot of cash on crappy championship league players, but after he was fired the team has had some success under Roy Hodgson.

I'll sometimes cheer for Aston Villa since they have a lot of cool players and a good, aggressive style of play.

You may want to just watch a few games and see which team you like.

P.S., Blackburn Rovers have been in the premier league for a long while, did you mean West Brom? Regardless, BR are a decent team, Bentley is my favorite English player. We'll see how well Paul Ince does.. it was a huge gamble for BR to replace Paul Hughes with someone who doesn't have any top level coaching experience.

aln_slc, I like your style.

I think an EPL fantasy league would be a great way to keep tabs on players and start to develop some allegiances. [With the mutual understanding, of course, that I suck at most fantasy sports.]

What websites do you all use to follow football? I have been using Soccernet as a default.

you're right, my bad. i must have confused blackburn with someone else. i think the last time blackburn went down (and up) wasn't all that long ago though, was it?

i still would like to see ince do well. I also like watching Aston Villa, cool team, plus I think Birmingham deserves more love than it gets.

I'd be down to play fantasy soccer.

p.s. I'm gonna try to be there this thursday. is it a big deal if i'm a little late?

p.p.s. wtf is up with RSL being second in the west? (albeit with a sub .500 record)

For EPL news stories I like the fox sports website, and sometimes just google news for the newest articles. I read and sometimes post on the bigsoccer message boards.

I will email you guys in about a month when we get our EPL league together, it is a blast.

B-Rad: We may move soccer from Thursday to Saturday this week, since there is a RSL game and about half of the people that regularly go will be at a friend's engagement party. Due to the heat and the sun we're starting at 7:00 now, so check your email for cool updates.

Rice Eccles is a fortress! RSL are unbeaten at home. Combine this with an anemic western division and you get 2nd place. YEAH!
