This is pretty much a placeholder so Brad and I can talk about The Wire and its awesomeness [the first person to link to SWPL gets subscribed to every Furry list-serve I can find].

Have you managed to catch any of Season 5? I just started... and I know you liked Season 3, but it never quite clicked for the same way the rest of the seasons did. Too much transitioning from the Barksdale to the Carcetti/Marlo plotlines.

I haven't watched any, no tengo HBO.

I liked 3, but you might be right, it probably did have too much stuff crammed into it.

One of the most amazing things about the wire to me is how they grow out, expanding the spectrum of the show as the plot moves linearly along.

I know you don't have HBO, but you know.

Season 5, so far, has been a bit of a disappointment. I don't know why writers have their characters self-destruct in the final season (McNulty is pulling a Nate Fischer). And far too many cameos/shout outs to earlier seasons.

But I think Sam might like the newspaper politics.

ps. swpl = Stuff ***** People Like.

i have actually really liked season 5, but i'm not fresh off the other seasons so i might be comparing it to other tv shows, which is favorable for the wire.

it's been sensational, i'm not sure if the sensationalism has been good or bad though.

(I'm through ep 6)
