I'm glad you got around to watching The Wire. As I think I've said before, definitely my choice for best TV show ever.

p.s. You should check out City of Men if you haven't. It's not City of God, but it's damn good.

How would you rank the seasons?

So far Season 3 has been a bit disappointing as it hasn't added as much to the table.

And shit... I didn't realize City of Men was a TV show. I just saw a trailer for it in theaters.

I believe there's a movie coming out also. A movie spin-off of a tv show that was a spin-off of a movie?

As for season 3, be patient, it gets pretty bad-ass. It does bring new politics to the table, although I guess you could argue that they had already explored the same issues on a smaller scale in seasons 1 and 2.

It's hard for me to rank the seasons because the way i see it they each expose a different angle on the same story (issues) and at the same time tell a great linear story. If I had to choose a favorite so far, it would probably be 3 actually. It's also hard not to choose one just because mcnulty is so awesome in that season.

You mean: the TV show is available to watch instantly [on a PC]. :(

Yeah, Season 3 is shaping up, but what I loved about Season 2 was how it shook the whole game up.

Season 3 does too, but it comes later I guess. You didn't want it all to be formulaic did you?

You can't watch instantly on netflix on a mac? That cracks me up. What could be so hard?

Digital Rights Management (DRM). I think Apple has a patent on the Mac version... or something like.

Whatever it is, its stupid and I think Netflix promised a solution soon.

Here is the question: what mode of distribution is going to win? The subscription model or the pay as you watch model?

anecdotally, i never use itunes, but i am a netflix subscriber.

still though, i think there's room for both.

for me i see hard drives as the way of the future, i think blue-ray's victory over hd-dvd is pretty meaningless. pyrrhic, if you will.
