Three down, two up.

Initial verdict on our Fall 07' Freshmen class:

Tell Me You Love Me / Confuses insufferability for profundity. No real schlongs equals no real dice.

Pushing Daisies / Utterly charming. Amelie with a healthy dash of dark humor. The conceit may not hold, but the first episode was pure gold.

Chuck / Good natured but completely inconsequential. I imagine the structure of the pilot repeated ad nasuem. And I just don't trust Josh Schwartz.

Reaper / The dark horse of the year. Hilarious with some surprisingly awesome action sequences. I never thought I would be looking forward to a show on the CW.

Dirty Sexy Money / Passably likable. The pilot was all setup with little payoff and a tacky 11th hour murder mystery. Krause, you can do better.

Haven't watched any of the others, (impressed you find the time) but I like Chuck. I enjoy it the same way I enjoy Magnum P.I. Which is to say shallowly, and a lot.

I disagree on a couple points.

Just like Brad, I think Chuck is fun to watch. I like the characters and don't really give a crap about what's actually happening in the show. I mean, c'mon, it's got Jayne from Firefly!

And I like Dirty Sexy Money too. It's another fun show that doesn't take itself or it's characters too seriously. And, again, I don't really care about the tacked on murder mystery plot yet. I just hope that doesn't get in the way of the Darling family drama.

Oh. When I gave the thumbs down, I didn't mean that I didn't like the shows. I just meant that I probably wouldn't be putting them in my plans to watch queue. i wouldn't turn the channel on either show, but they simply aren't that interesting.

Speaking of shows, 30 Rock and The Office are still trucking (WEREWOLF BAR MITVFAH!), but man what happened to Heroes? It has really stalled for the first three episodes. None of the plotlines are all that interesting (especially the two new characters -- I swear I am going to turn off the TV if there is another instance of them getting seperated and the black plague being unleashed) and they really blew it by having Sylar return so early. Am I in the minority here?

Nah. Heroes has issues. But it always has early on. My personal feeling is that it's easy to forget how much the Isaac-Simone-Peter, Peter-Nathan, and Nikki-Jessica story lines weighed down the show last year.

And this year it's Nikki (again) and virgin-mary-black-plague-wonder-twins bringing us down.

But there's a lot to love. Hiro and Ando. Still good. Peter Petrelli. Not an amnesia fan, but still good.

i'm not gonna say they've blown it with sylar yet, because i'm not sure he's really all that back yet.

i don't think heroes has stalled, but it has at least shifted at too low rpm.

eric has only started watching just now and he likes it. i like peter's story line. while i don't really like the twins, what was significant about showing the black plague so many times is that this last time she used it instead of it just happening.

30 rock is great to me, but i have a hard time watching a full episode of the office, and it's only 30 mins. maybe it's cuz i love the british one so much.
