It might not work as futurism, but Strange Days does function in that Science Fiction commentary way. I thought it had interesting things to say about memory and the nature of memory.
Plus it had a screenplay by James Cameron, who – as we all know – is famous mostly for his role in Entourage.
You may want to re-watch it (actually don't), because it is not nearly as profound as you probably remember it to be. (lolz)
Cameron got the idea for the story after the Rodney King verdict, so you have to bear through his weak racial pontificating.
