A new hope.
Maybe you haven't been following USA football lately. I wouldn't blame you.
Our future has not looked all that bright after our emotionally-wrenching exit from the 2006 World Cup and our humiliating 0-3 finish in the Copa América 2007.
But there is hope.
The U-20 World Cup, the ultimate tournament for players under 20, has just wrapped up group play and USA looks great.
Freddy Adu scored a hat-trick in a game against Poland and Jozy Altidore dismantled the Brazilian defense in a thrilling victory.
Best part?
They are 18 and 17 respectively. That means they are young enough to participate in the next U-20 World Cup.
Tired of Donovan?
Watch USA vs. Uruguay tomorrow at 7:45 EST, ESPNU.

Who could be tired of Donovan?
And it's too bad Freddy Adu doesn't play like that for Real Salt Lake. Make help them win a second game.
Yeah, I am not sure what the score is with Adu in Salt Lake. Maybe Brad has some insight?
And maybe he also has a webpage I can go to get my football information, because both Yahoo and ESPN suck in that regard.
in reverse order
if you don't mind sifting through a message board - bigsoccer.com is the biggest place to stay up to date on any footy. they have a forum for usmnt u-20.
the problem with adu at real salt lake is that coach jason kreis doesn't know shit about coaching. neither did coach john ellinger before him. adu should be playing in the attacking midfield role. i was in argentina when adu got his hat trick, but i would be willing to bet that he was playing a-mid. kreis plays him on the left, which effectively stifles his creativity and forces him to simply push down the side and make crosses.
p.s. if you don't get espn-u you can watch the u20 world cup in spanish on galavision (ch. 99 on slc comcast)
I was letdown big time -- no bars around here carry ESPNU. I will have to see if any of them have Galavision.
FIFA has a function that allows every country except the USA to watch the games online for free. wtf?
